  1. PROFESSION CEREMONIES

Br. Harhold Beukes made his FIRST VOWS on January 10, at Mariental.

Br. Reynold Esau made his FINAL VOWS on January 13, at Holy Trinity Parish, Karasburg.

Brs. Derick and Etienne RENEWED their VOWS on January 24, at the Cathedral, Keetmanshoop.

 

  1. FORMATION

With gratitude for the grace of vocations, we humbly beg God Almighty to strengthen those He called, and to keep us all steadfast in His service.

 

The following scholastics of our Region are at the various stages of formation in Tswane/Pretoria, South Africa:

            Reynold Esau, in his third year of theology;

            Derick Apollus, doing his second year of theology;

            Etienne Swartz, beginning his first year of theology; and

            Harhold Beukes starting his first year of philosophy.

 

At our Aviat House in Windhoek, Namibia, under the direction of Fr. Charles Goliath, Heinrich Diergaardt, Longinus Amutenya and Gino Kisting are busy with their initial training in the Postulancy program.

 

We thank you all for your prayers and financial support for all these students in formation. Please continue to pray that they may persevere so as to serve God and His Church.

 

  1. TRANSFERS

After consultations with the Diocesan Administrator of Keetmanshoop, Msgr. Klaus Lettner, the following transfers have been made:

 

Fr. Martin van der Avoird to Mariental, Immaculate Conception Parish, as the pastor.

Fr. Edmund Fuchs to Mariental, as assistent and Chaplain to the MSC Convent and Hospice.

Fr. Charles Goliath to Windhoek, as Director of Postulants in our Aviat House.

  1. BIRTHDAYS and JUBILEES

Fr. Edmund Fuchs and Fr. Albert Rebmann will celebrate their 50th priesthood jubilees on June 29.

Fr. Martin on March 11 will celebrate 40 years of priesthood.

Fr. Hartung will remember 20 years of priestly ordination on December 16.

 

We wish God’s richest blessings on all our confrers who celebrate their birthdays, and congratulate all who celebrate jubilees.

 

  1. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SOUTH AMERICAN PROVINCE

On behalf of all the confrers from the Keetmanshoop Region, Namibia, I congratulate the confrers of the South American Province on their elevation from region to Province.

 

We salute the first Provincial Superior, Very Rev. Fr. Michael Moore, and the members of the Provincial Council:  Fausto Alberto Benavides V, Luciano M Rossetto, Paulo Rodrigues dos Santos and Roque Bisognin.
